Bring your frames to your preferred optometrist along with the included “Lens Fitting Protocol” instructions. They might want you to sign something saying they are not liable for breaking them. This is standard anytime someone brings in their own frames. Don’t worry! It is very rare that a frame breaks from inserting lenses, and we will provide a free replacement if anything goes wrong.

Flitch frames will last for years when handled properly. Just like most glasses frames, they will break if abused. Flitch frames are made with nine layers of wood that have been cross-laminated to create a strong and flexible wood material that is lightweight, conforming, and durable.
Every Flitch frame comes with a 90 day warranty and covers the replacement of components of up to one full frame: up to two temples and one front. A 180 day manufacturer’s warranty is also included.
Flitch wood frames are coated with a durable finish. A lightly dampened cloth can be used to clean the wood frames. Standard lens cleaner can be used and will not hurt the frames. Keep your frames in their wood case when not being worn to prevent any accidental damage.
Flitch frames are coated with a durable finish which repels most moisture. Submerging them is not recommended. If they do get wet, dry them with a soft cloth.
No, the weight of the lenses make them too dense to float.
Flitch wood frames weigh between 9 and 15 grams. Compare that to standard acetate or metal frames which are 25 grams. Lenses add an additional amount which varies depending on type and prescription.
